The groundwork for Lauren’s career in the world of movement, creative arts and the mind/body connection was established at New York University where she studied at the Experimental Theatre Wing and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Tisch School of the Arts and a Master of Science in Marketing.
Curious to learn more about yoga, she took a lesson with Lisa Stendig in 2007, long-time student of Angela Farmer, and had an "aha" moment. Lauren studied with Lisa for over five years, exploring a non-conformist style that offered endless possibilities.
Yearning to share, Lauren completed 500-hours of training through Pure Yoga in New York City and is RYT-500 through Yoga Alliance. She is also a Reiki Master.
After a career in the entertainment marketing industry while moonlighting as a yoga instructor, Lauren left the corporate world to share her love of yoga.
As a mother of three, she is inspired by her children's spirit, innocence, curiosity and resilience, and strives to bring their creative energy into every class. Lauren returned “home” to Maryland in 2019 after spending 17 years in NYC. She currently serves as a Lead Yoga Teacher at Honest Soul Yoga.
What's up with the name? I love the color pink, had stick legs as an adolescent, and friends said I looked like a flamingo when I wore pink leggings. In the 90s when one had to create an online handle, Laur (Fla) Mingo was not taken and kinda just stuck.
